Hi, my friend and I are travelling to the Seychelles in August, and I am hoping to charter a small motor cabin cruiser to explore the islands from the sea (preferably Mahé, Praslin or La Digue). However, my online searches only come up with yacht charters, which is not what I'm looking for as I can't sail! What we want is a small motor boat (6-8m) with a cabin and somewhere to cook. Does anyone know a company specialising in such charters, or someone who has such a boat and is willing to hire it out? Thanks! more

I'm a boat builder to trade, I'm currently building a 63' Catamaran from a well proven class "A" Ocean design. I was thinking on using it for charter so I can do a bit of sailing and still have an income. But each licence seems to limit me to one country where I can pick up passengers. Is there not a way to get a licence that is as broad and international as the range of the boat?The restrictions on obtaining a charter licence in my home country is the reason why I'm asking the question. At home the licence is restricted to pick up passengers only from this small Island country.Therefore I am looking to register the vessel else where to make the vessel more international. more

I really want to live on a boat here in the UK but have no idea what's involved and would like to hear some advice if you have any! My idea is to renovate and modify an old fishing trawler, as opposed to a sailing boat or (super) yacht. There are plenty in my area that are going very cheap as the industry has all but died. So what would be involved in getting my boat A) adequate to live in, and B) slogging through all the beaurocracy that is no doubt involved- is there a ridiculous amount?
